...for anyone interested...
Some of the albums included below were released semi-legal, meaning their release was unauthorized by Jeffrey Lee Pierce, but were provided by former band members. In the liner notes of "Danse Kalinda Boom" Jeffrey Lee Pierce wrote:
"Yes, it's true kids, this is an authentic "live" album for the first time. In response to the overwhelming amount of illegal & incorrect recordings purporting to be "live" Gun Club albums, Kid Congo, Patricia Morrison & myself have found it necessary to release an "Authorized" live album representing the Gun Club live experience at its best and as it truly went down. So guaranteed this is not an album of poor quality tapes licensed clandestinely to some dodgy label by disgruntled & frustrated ex-members, I can promise this record features the Gun Club at its "live" best and definitive line up. Rest in Peace."
JEFFREY LEE PIERCE - Vocals - WARD DOTSON - Guitars - ROB RITTER - Bass - TERRY GRAHAM - Drums -

Semi-legal CD, released by Revenge Records/Caroline Records, containing the semi-legal LP's:
"Sex Beat 81" (tracks 1-12) & "Love Supreme" (tracks 13-19), from the latter
the tracks "Goodbye Johnny" and "Preaching The Blues" were deleted (see above).
Please note that this "Death Party" CD has nothing to do with the official, vinyl only EP with the same title!
Personal source: CD -> CD-R (see also "Sex Beat 81" & "Love Supreme")
Semi-legal French CD, released by Éditions Atlas, Paris in the "Les Génies du Rock" (RK CD 430) series. Licensed from Revenge/FGL 1993. Contains most tracks from the 'original' Revenge Records "Death Party" CD (see above) in a (slightly) different running order, but misses "Bad Indian", "Keys To The Kingdom", and "Love Supreme".
Also available with a different cover: just a very cheap one, with LES GENIES DU ROCK written in big letters. No text inside, no picture, same track-list, same year of release.
Please note again that this "Death Party" CD has nothing to do with the official, vinyl only EP with the same title!

Semi-legal double CD, released by Sympathy For The Record Industry Records,
with liner notes by Ward Dotson, and Terry Graham.
Tracks 1-5 recorded April 1981, Program Studio, Los Angeles
Tracks 6-18 live Spring 1982, The Continental, Buffalo, New York
Tracks 19-34 solo acoustic home recordings, 1981-1982
Also available as a numbered limited edition 2CD-set (1500 copies only), which comes in a leather case, silver embossed, with velvet inserts in the booklet, and hold together with two screws. I have also been told a version containing the first CD only is available. Does anyone know if this is correct?

Said to be the first gig as The Gun Club, but this is not true ...
Steven Wolfe wrote: "I never saw them play as Creeping Ritual - I was living in San Francisco at the time. It's all a bit hazy all these years later, but I know without question that I saw at least one Gun Club show before the Starwood, and I think there were more. I can't recall club names or anything, sadly. But at this one show - which I think was the actual first show as Gun Club, it was a small dive and Jeffrey had a portrait of Robert E. Lee onstage (how's your US history? Robert E. Lee, commander in chief of the Confederate army during the Civil War)."

Audience walkman recording. This is the 2nd show of that night.
A story from the guy who made this tape:
"Jeffery was a little drunk. At the 9:30 there used to be a post at the center of the stage.
The stage was a square stage in the far corner of a square room. During "Sex Beat" Jeffery
ran smack into the post, briefly knocking himself out. You'll hear another voice (Mike
Lavella, former Pittsburgh punk who now publishes "Gearhead") who picked up the mic & uttered
the final "Sex Beat"."

Unknown venue, probably the Seaview Ballroom. With Patricia Morrison on bass, Kid Congo Powers slide guitar, Spencer P. Jones guitar (from the Johnnys), and Billy drums (from the Johnnys).
Pat Wilson's "Bop Girl" is a horrible catchy song which Jeffrey Lee Pierce heard when it was a No.1 hit on local radio at the time, and he sampled lines from the song at every show he did. Hear him describe what he wants to do with Pat Wilson!

Recorded live at the Manila, Firenze, Italy, November 26, 1983 (unlisted on sleeve, see above).
According to the information on the sleeve (see above) this LP was produced by Chris Stein & J.L. Pierce.
This makes it look like a semi-legal thing, but it's not!
Most of the recording details were simply copied from the official "Death Party" EP release.
Picture and logo on the cover were taken from a New Musical Express interview.

-Side A-
Note: Above is the corrected tracklisting, this is what's on the album cover:
Bootleg LP, released by Superb Productions.
Live Doelen, Rotterdam, Holland, September 22, 1983
Live Paradiso, Amsterdam, Holland, April 17, 1983
Live Tube B.B.C. 1984
Note: Not all of the above recording dates are correct:
The Gun Club certainly played at De Doelen, Rotterdam, Holland on September 22, 1984!.
Part of that gig was released officially on the "Danse Kalinda Boom" album.
Correct is the recording date for Paradiso, Amsterdam, Holland, April 17, 1983. The show was
filmed for and broadcast on Dutch TV at the time (a.o. confirmed by former
bandmember Jim Duckworth).
The recording for the Tube was made for Channel 4 (not BBC!) in Newcastle on October 19, 1984.
All this leaves us with the following information:
Tracks 1-7 recorded at Pandora's Music Box, De Doelen, Rotterdam, Holland, September 22, 1984.
Tracks 8-10 recorded at Paradiso, Amsterdam, Holland, April 17, 1983, and taken from the TV broadcast.
Tracks 11-12 recorded for The Tube, Channel 4, Newcastle, England, October 19, 1984, and taken from the TV broadcast.

BEWARE WHEN BUYING THIS CD - READ ON !!!
This bootleg CD has the same tracklist printed on the sleeve as the one included on the "Live" bootleg CD, recorded live at Paradiso, Amsterdam, Holland, May 1, 1987, and released by Oblivion Records (excluding the hidden tracks). Only the disc has the same cat.no. (CD3-136) as the "A Fulminant Live Act" bootleg CD, and the actual tracklist is exactly the same as on that particular CD. Also seen with the same backsleeve, but with the 'original' "Live" bootleg CD frontsleeve.
More details unknown. Anyhow, it seems strange that someone went to all the trouble of a new picture, and accurate song listing only to rip us off with the music !!
